"No....13,000 feet. It is at the upper limit of it's range. The whole series of events(especially Kallstrom's behavior) had that "thou protests too much" smell." While I would not be surprised that a missile shot 800 down. I'm a little puzzled as to why in the last six years there have not been more shoot-downs. Such attacks could occur in areas that would have had far more witnesses and far less deniability. It just seems to me that an organization capable of the 9-11 assaults could have easily smuggled in many such weapons. I'd have expected it to rain airplanes in the wake of 9-11, a perfect 1-2 punch. Planes as missiles, missiles at planes. The flying public would be terrified out of their collective wits, and no amount of baggage scanning would have solved this one.
It would seams to me that a lack of proper publicity from a first shoot-down would drive them to attempt more, higher profile attempts. As 9-11 proves, the idea that somehow the US intelligence community has stopped other attempts on airliners, and somehow kept it quiet, rings hollow at best.
Plus, from a political perspective, the flight 800 thing did happened on Klintoons watch. It would seem to my cynical little mind that this would be the perfect time to come clean about it, if it was indeed shot down by a missile. "Hey, Senator Clinton, what did you know about the shooting down of Flight 800, and when did you know it? "

While I was attending flight school in the late 70's, I got to learn all about Middle East flight students. I was one of about 20 Americans out of about 150 students. What I learned was that they are incredibly incompetent and alarmingly egotistical. An arab student would buy a new car. He would drive it until it got a flat tire, or something broke and would just leave it sitting in the parking lot abandoned and buy another. They were constantly breaking stuff in airplanes and were terrified of having to communicate on the radio with any controller, tower, or ATC. There would be a few leaders of these groups of students who were capable, but the majority of them were real morons whose families were rich and powerful. My point is that only a very few are capable of cohesively organizing and leading such activities as carrying out operations in a strange land. Most of them can't even keep their car running.

I'd sure like to see what you think you saw, with odds though, to a greater chance of The Sink Emperor covering up than not.

A military analyst on Fox News just said a missile shot down flight 800
I saw that too, on Fox & Friends. It was FOX News military analyst Major Bob Bevelacqua.
To: kattracks
the feds insisted in its bulletin there was no information that Osama Bin Laden's killers were "planning to use any type of missile or weapons systems against commercial aircraft in the U.S."
This smacks of posturing for the 'sheeple'. Will some reporter have the guts to ask "Does the FBI have any info that the killers will not use the missles against US commercial aircraft?" Either way, the airlines are going to see another traffic downturn.

Are we the only ones who saw this?? This is ridiculous - somebody should be saying something about this somewhere.
I sure wish I had a transcript that I could post. And I'll sure be listening carefully next time this guy comes on (if ever).
To: Flashlight
Yes, it will be interesting if the guy is ever on again.
And no, I haven't heard a peep since...

Procedures for
Pancake landings to minimize low level flying are apparantly now in effect.
Good luck to any Freepers onboard aircraft in the next couple of months!

"Pancake landings? Please excuse my ignorance. Pancake landing = crash into an IHOP, it turns out that the sugary sauce used on the "Rooty Tutty Fresh and Fruity" is an excellent fire retardant. Alright, I don't know either. What is a pancake landing...anybody???

OK, I have located that quote:
VAN SUSTEREN: Major Bob Bevelacqua, what are your thoughts on what is the likelihood of this recent report that there could be these Stinger missiles here in the United States in the hands of people, of terrorists?
MAJOR BOB BEVELACQUA, FOX MILITARY ANALYST: Greta, I think it's old news. I think we've known about this for a while. I would tell you that there have been certain acts in the past, Flight 800, for example. An airplane just typically doesn't blow up in mid-flight and crash. And there was different pieces of information that circled around that whole thing that led to a Stinger-type scenario.
It can be found here:
