No one can say that they weren't warned. Too many just chose not to listen.

But in the true spirit of "double think" the FBI and DOJ say loss of freedom is necessary to keep freedom in America.

Bingo! I don't understand why more FReepers aren't outraged at what is happening in front of their very own eyes.

I've heard this government line before, " We had to destroy the village to save it ".

The FBI is now admitting that it's supposed to be a "domestic intelligence agency" which is simply a secret police agency. The form of government established by the framers of our Constitution doesn't require such an agency and in fact, makes no provision for the creation of one mainly because the function of such an agency is inimicable to our form of government.

All these years of the FBI being held up as the premier "crime fighting" outfit in the ocuntry and they have basically done diddly about crime, other than to develop snitches who can hand them cases for public showings. Turns out they have always been about "domestic intelligence" which means spying at home. We should junk them as well as every other federal law enforcement agency and all the regulatory agencies currently being morphed into more SWAT style law enforcement groups.

"We want to spy a lot more on everyone with more spies and cooler hi-tech gizmos." . . . so nothing has changed

Sorry, I'm not a libertine. I'm what you wish people here would think you are, a conservative.
