Jammu, May 31. (PTI): The mentors of terrorists in Pakistan occupied Kashmir have ordered that infiltration be stopped for a month in an attempt to deflect world opinion, the Army said here.

This was revealed during interrogation of apprehended Pakistani terrorists, a release by the Army's Northern Command headquarters at Udhampur said.

It said in the coming days all acts of terrorism will be attributed to unknown outfits in order to deflect world opinion from the continued support to terrorism by Pakistani and PoK- based outfits including Lashker-e-Toiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad, Harkat-ul-Mujahideen, Hizbul Mujahideen and other known outfits.

We are being played. The worst part of it is that we all know it and allow it to continue.

Pakistan has historically been a covert supporter and financier of Islamic extremist terrorist groups and this recent news release seems to confirm that nothing has changed. Its time to draw another line in the sand and realize that India might be the closest thing to an ally that we have in the region. Couple this with the US position that we will fight terrorism wherever it occurs and one is hard pressed to find reason not to support India. In light of the recent wave of terrorist attacks it is amazing that we have witnessed such restraint.

This is just great. Pause infiltration for a month until the heat dies down and deny association with terrorist acts in the meantime. Should fool everyone.

Worked for Yasser. Now Musharrafat works the same angle, with nuclear blackmail thrown in. And a recent report on FR talks about flyers showing up in Islamabad threatening Musharraf. Yes, i'm a cynic but how convenient and timely.

They are both good examples. The problem is that dealing with either of them is a matter of treating the symptom rather than the cause. What the US consistently fails to admit is that it is radical fundamentalism on a massive scale that we are at war with. It's fairly obvious that the Pakistani's don't want us in their country. The Saudi's showed us the door shortly after we had kicked Saddam's forces back into Iraq (many of the 9/11 hijackers were Saudi). Iran sponsors terrorism. Yemen is a safe haven for terrorists. The list goes on and on. The problem is that all these nations take advantage of our PC policies and wind up accusing us of attacking nations because of the actions of a few of their citizens. This is a little like saying that the Allies should not have bombed Germany because not everyone was wearing a Nazi uniform.

What we are seeing is only the tip of the iceberg. They burn our flag in the streets while we speak.
