This is what we get by "professionalising" the security screeners.
These people are now government security screeners. They cannot be fired, they cannot be disciplined, they cannot use common sense.
God Bless the soldier for his sacrifice.

Rush is right. Its about time we started looking for terrorists (muslims) and stopped looking for weapons.

Miller complained to an American Airlines official, and Miller said the official responded he was too busy to help. Aaaaaarrrrrgggggghhhhhhhhhh!
Lt. Miller wasn't "too busy" to risk his hide in Afghanistan. Someone's head needs to roll.

Is this zero tolerance at play? Or, zero intelligence? Tell me again who the enemy is.

Airport security isn't making air travel secure. It's making potential terrorists laugh at our ineptness. Screeners are distracted by US military personnel with wired jaws while Ahmad and his pals are planning God knows what ... makes me want to puke.

http://www.amrcorp.com/emailform.htmThe Chairman of the company is Don Carty - I can't find a direct e-mail address for him; I would presume you can get to him via the Corporate Communications dept.

Lt. Miller wasn't "too busy" to risk his hide in Afghanistan. Risk your life, get shot up, then come home and realize just what you have been fighting for.

"American Airlines spokesman John Hotard agreed and said the Transportation Security Administration, the federal agency that oversees airport security, is still working out the kinks in policy."
Are there imminent plans to work out the kinks in their brains, too????
May God bless you, and I thank you, Lt. Greg Miller, for the service you have rendered, and the personal sacrifice and suffering you endured for our REAL security--and the REAL security of these consummate IDIOTS!!!!

Same old screeners.. Now they are better cause they are federal employees and will pay dues to support daschle and pals. These screeners are idiots ----- If they would profile they would be doing their jobs.... Morons

Good thing Dubya federalized airport security, so now we can't even fire them for their ineptness.

I have a son who played football and was a starter. He refers to the non-starters who get all hyper and show off in practice as "Johnny All American Practice Squad." They're not quite good enough to start but they are real heroes in practice. That's what I would call these federal goodball screeners - Johnny All American Practice Squad.

Viet Nam Vets experienced this on a massive scale upon their homecoming.

Is this zero tolerance at play? Or, zero intelligence? Both, of course. The idiots at the TSA make up the rule: disarm everybody. It's a stupid rule, of course, but exactly what I expect from those control freaks. Then they hand the idiotic rule on to a collection of low-grade submorons to enforce. Please don't expect anything sane or decent to result from this process; you're sure to be disappointed. Identify, capture and imprison or deport the terrorists. Let the honest folk equip themselves as they see fit. It's called freedom. We should try it.

Good thing this soldier didn't have his medal with him or they would have taken that too. God Bless you for your service and sacrifice, Lt. Miller.
I do feel safer today because of what Lt. Miller and his brothers and sisters in arms have accomplished. I feel no safer, however, do to the idiotic, eyewash security measures implemented at airports.

"...if, for instance, he had presented a doctor's note."Since they weren't impressed by the security clearance sticker, they wouldn't have believed the doctor's note, either. They're just coming up with face-saving excuses, now that the story's out.
I try not to fly at all if possible. But if I absolutely have to get on a jet, I'll just disguise myself as an Arab and, if questioned by security about anything, start screaming real loud about "racial profiling." That should make me immune to any sort of search and seizure. I'll probably find a letter of profuse apology from the president of the airline when I get home.

Was this a "Condition Red" situation according to the Tom Ridge "Crayola Threat Matrix"?
