Jefferson was imperfect, like all human beings. He not only inherited slaves but during his life bought and sold slaves (often to unite families). He died so deeply in debt that he lacked the legal ability to free more than a small number of his slaves, who as ''property'' under Virginia law were subject to the claims of his creditors.

Since Jefferson is the Icon of the RAT party, I prefer to refer to him as a slaver.

His name should also be associated with the likes of other famous RATs, such as:

1. Billy Jim Bob Byrd, (KKK) Grand Imperial RAT Wizard of the Senate
2. Fritz Hollings, then RAT Governor who orderd Confederate battle flag flown over SC Statehouse.
3. George Wallace, RAT governor who stood in the doors of the University of Alabama to prevent the entry of blacks.
4. Algor Sr., RAT Senator who voted against the Civil Rights Act and had a black nanny (for little Algor) who had to wait in the car while the "white folk" ate in a restaurant.

I'm sure you can come up with a few more.

Jefferson was once useful to the Democrats when their ambitions were more modest.

Now that they are out and out socialists, Jefferson provides them little support. The right now find Jefferson's quotations more useful, for example on the RKBA.

Jefferson's only function for the RATS now is as a Dead White Male they can discredit, and the Hemming yarn is perfect in that regard.
