And of course, once someone formerly on the side of the radical left (is there any other kind of left?) speaks out against them, she's painted with the same brush they reserve for us conservatives.

Human rights watchdogs accused Fallaci, who suffers from cancer, of playing into the hands of Osama bin Laden's fanatics by using provocative language to stir religious hatred. I knew the international human rights sewer rats would find a way to condemn the author. I couldn't help but notice that they aren't griping about the Islamafascists' "using provocative language to stir religious hatred".

... It has been reprinted five times in Italy and unauthorised translations swiftly appeared on pro-Israeli websites. So too has Fallaci's latest article which lambasted European anti-Semites ...
I
love this woman. Where can you find these unauthorized translations of her book or articles?

she denounces Europeans who sympathise with the Palestinians as anti- Semites who would sell their own mothers to a harem to see Jews once again in the gas chambers and ovens of Dachau. BTTT

Above are some FR threads.
The writer is typical, and only addresses Fallaci to maintain relevance. He smears her with the usual brushes, but very feebly. Spin that the "joos" are behind it - rather than address the articles merits or lack thereof.
And always, the unnamed "human rights" people, who are experts by fact of their professed humanitarianism.

I must say, good for her. Not for the hatred, but the anger that she voices toward fanatics. Since Sept. 11th, I still have heard little outcry from the muslim community, and as a result I too have been harboring anger toward these people. Would I harm a muslim, ABSOLUTELY NOT, as I couldn't harm any person. However, there is anger at this group, and anger at the PC crowd.

According to
Amazon.Com France it's number 15 in sales. "11 Septembre 2001 : L'effroyable imposture" is at number 34, probably number 1 at one time.

I must say, good for her. Not for the hatred, but the anger that she voices toward fanatics. Some of us are opposed to fanatics of all stripes -- though that can get you into trouble even here on FR. :-)

Maybe the Muzzies overplayed their hand? Maybe even their long-term friends are so totally freaked out that common sense has intervened?
I certainly hope so, at any rate. I'm sure she's getting lots of pressure from the Islam-loving European left - and I hope she's finding out how much harder it is to resist intellectual pressure than to resist fear. Being laughed at and ridiculed by one's "peers" is probably harder, in its own way, than being hunted by the Gestapo.

Not only have the Moslems overplayed their hand, so has the left. 9/11 was extremely inconvenient for the agenda of both, but they could have mitigated the harm by clearly condemning the act. By not doing so (for reasons that I still do not understand,) both have probably condemned themselves to the ashheap of history.

You know you're winning the war when the Italians switch over to your side.
Michael Ledeen of The American Enterprise Institute has been on The Dennis Prager Show
a couple of times to talk about how the Italians have sided much more with the USA
post-9-11 than most of the rest of Continental Europe.
Prager also talked a lot about Ms. Fallaci and her new pariah status for letting the
terrorist and their sympathizers have it but good.

Ahhh, she obviously doesn't know what she is doing since she is ravaged by disease (/sarcasm)
of playing into the hands of Osama bin Laden's fanatics
Yes, we certainly wouldn't want the followers of OBL to get mad at us...
can't say anything to upset them ...
or they might do something that will kill hundreds ....
or maybe even thousands .....
of ......
people ........
uhm ......

LOL! thanks so much for the ping.
Jewish leaders such as Amos Luzzatto and conservative politicians such as Antonio Martino, Italy's Defence Minister, have praised her for having the courage to defy political correctness.
Bravo! She is an excellent writer.

Human rights watchdogs accused Fallaci, who suffers from cancer, of playing into the hands of Osama bin Laden's fanatics by using provocative language to stir religious hatred.Which just shows how little watching the "human rights watchdogs" actually do, compared to the amount of politicking.
