"Well, this one should give ya a major heads up on the Christ Hospital thing as being a fact...
Nate was swinging on his swing and went too high and flew off the thing backwards. 11 year old comes in screaming with him in tow. Holding her new (was white) shirt on his head with pressure to stop the bleeding as she tries to hold him in her arms. He's gushing everywhere. What a mess! Call the ped doc (from Loyola) and he's in WI in Appleton about 30 minutes from my farm at his Brothers who's wife is our ped up there on vacation. He calls back instantly and said get him to Christ. So, off we go to Christ Hospital and a Doctor Harris he's called to meet us there in emergency greets us. (Palos Hospital doesn't do head trauma's from children 2 or younger it seems; not set up for them!) 911 won't bring him to Loyola; only Palos or Christ.
I will tell ya first hand Fed's everywhere!!!! At the entrance to emergency, in the waiting room hubby ended up in after he got there. Search's if they thought you looked strange entering or just for the heck of it, it seems. We came in via emergency and 911 ambulance (my arms were too bad to drive today, so I'll get a nice bill for that one). Hubby met us there and was cross checked with ID verses patient before allowed in... He had to park over at the out lot as the emergency lot was shut off.
So, 11 stitches later in the lower back right part of his large head; Mom's on the hour wake up shift all night he's doing find right now and rather unhappy about the things in his head at present (wait till they try to take them out LOL). The cinder blocks he hit his head on that were hidden under the pea gravel in the play area are mostly removed from Hubby tonight outta Dammit mode basically. Calling Vulcan Materials for another 7 to 10 inches of pea gravel to be delivered tomorrow to the play area so this doesn't happen again...
Just thought I'd let ya know... Based on what I've heard from friends last night and seen first had this report was a creditable one for sure...
