Targeting Jews would have the effect of further moving the US into support of Israel. Bad move. Target the target, ie ordinary Americans. Fear is the name of the game.

I respectfully disagree. Most will make no distinction concerning the group attacked, as long as they are primarily Americans. We didn't care about even the nationality of anyone who was killed on 9-11.

It's concievable that our reaction would have been even stronger had a thousand Jews died in 9/11. Israeli pressure would be even stronger, and there would have been no keeping them on the side lines.

And they were not necessarily trying to kill but to take out the financial spine of our country. Next time it is supposed to be the heart of America as I recall. I wouldn't want to live in DC right now.
