Wouldn't it be the greatest Machiavellian scheme in history if the fall of the Soviet Union was a trick to get the US to let down its defenses, while it lies in wait for the right time to strike it with nukes? And when it does destroy the US that its quest for world domination of communism would begin?

The chances of Russia initiating a nuclear attack on the United States these days are about zilch. Nil. Zippo.

BTW, I'm a former SAC aircraft commander who spent more than his share of time on nuclear alert during the Cold War.
