The US is using the money from the regional sale of the cows to the needy and then taking that money and buying beads from local merchants of Massai to repay the economy for the gift for New York.

Now I wonder...did Saudi Arabia offer anything?

$10,000,000 to NYC...and after making claims that the United States was partly at blame...Rudy told them to shove it...

buy beadwork made in the village

Maybe somebody can put up a webpage where Americans could buy those beads.
I bet they'd be able to sell all they could produce.

"Agreed. This was a touching gift. This tribe has very little in the materialistic sense."

Very little in the materialistic sense, but much, much more in the spiritual sense. In that sense, the Maasai are far richer today than before their generous gift to America and Americans.

Such a Gift from an Impoverished tribe is BEYOND EXTRAORDINARY! They have "Donated" a LARGE percent of their Peoples' wealth to the Victims of 9/11 as both an offer of help & a statement of Solidarity!

WHOEVER they are, we "Owe them--BIG TIME!!"

We should make EVERY EFFORT to reciprocate--to offer them the BEST we can to uplift their People!

They told us they Respect & Support us; we CANNOT afford to ignore Those who Respect us, NO MATTER how "small" they may be!

This is a "TesT" of our Nation's character--we OUGHT to "pass" it with "Flying Colors!"

However Humble our "Allies," we MUST treat them with the Dignity our Principles require!

"W" should receive the "Elders" of this Tribe with FULL DIPLOMATIC HONORS!!

& we should do our honest best to reciprocate for their generous offer!!

IMHO

Doc

Exactly, Doc.
"You are either with us or you are against us.."
I believe these folks have made a clear declaration.

I agree Doc. This wasn't a token gift on their part and I wish the President could thank them personally.

I'll bet someone on the Ladies Guild can find out where to find these beads in the stores so we can thank them properly.

GMTA, I was just thinking I really would like some Maasai beads. Don't really have anything to wear them with, but I'd like to have some anyway.
