Orthodox Christians have been defending themselves against Islam since Heraclius. The Catholics were late comers to the struggle and sometimes did the struggle harm. You will find no defending of Islam from me.

No one said you weren't defenders. I consider you my brethren actually--most of our beliefs are the same, and I have nothing but love and sympathy for the orthodox. However, late-comers or no--it is never an enviable task. Perhaps you are referring to the sack of Constantinople, when you say "did more harm than good." I still stand by my assertion that there are only two instances that were condemed in the Crusades. If you read those links you will see that it was the orthodox who asked the Pope to send help. We did, and still would if he asked us to again. =)
Regards.

Uh, if you asked Heraclius what Chuch he belonged to, would he respond "the Orthodox Church?" You do know that the Orthodox and Catholic Churches were one prior to the schism of 1054 AD, right?
