The Heart of Politics: The Washington Tale of John Kerry and Teresa Heinz (The NUTTY Mrs. Heinz
Washington Post ^ | June 2, 2002 | Mark Leibovich

Posted on 06/04/2002 7:05:46 AM PDT by PJ-Comix

Edited on 09/03/2002 4:50:35 AM PDT by Jim Robinson. [history]

Teresa Heinz is getting up a full head of rage while her husband, Sen. John Kerry, fidgets.

They are in the living room of their Georgetown home, where Heinz has lived ever since her late first husband, John Heinz, came to Washington in 1971 as a Republican congressman from Pennsylvania. In the front entrance, the first things a visitor sees are two framed photos of Teresa Heinz cuddled with tall, smiling men with big heads of brown hair: In one is John Kerry, in the other John Heinz.....

The rest of this incredibly BIZARRE story is available HERE.

Over two long interviews, Teresa Heinz is by turns effusive and harsh, warm and slightly bitter, solemn and melodramatic.

In other words, flat out NUTS.

In the front entrance, the first things a visitor sees are two framed photos of Teresa Heinz cuddled with tall, smiling men with big heads of brown hair: In one is John Kerry, in the other John Heinz.

Actually, until very recently there was just ONE framed photo in the front entrance until the Boston Herald pointed out that embarrassing fact which is mentioned in today's Boston Herald commentary on this Post article here:

"The profile - which purports to be of Kerry but is really about Teresa - makes note of the two portraits hanging in her Georgetown manse, one of Teresa and Heinz, another of Teresa and Kerry. Sadly, the paper fails to mention that the second appeared only after a Herald item on the first!"

Kerry says he won't spend any Heinz money on a campaign -- and Heinz says she won't make it available -- unless, in her words, an opponent engages in "character assassination" against her or Kerry.

As conveniently happened when Kerry was falling behind in a Senate race against William Weld. Then Kerry broke a pledge to limit his campaign spending and tossed in a large infusion of Mrs. Heinz's cash into the race.

The other thread was deleted because I posted the whole Wash Post article. A suggestion would be to have a reminder about not posting from there or the L.A. Times on the posting page as we had before. Since there wasn't that reminder I thought it was OK now. Sorry for the error. Anyway, I encourage EVERYBODY to go to the Wash Post link to read this article. It is absolutely HILARIOUS to see how the NUTTY Mrs. Heinz has turned Kerry into her personal Poodle Boy. Kerry's campaign is beginning to look like a Mel Brooks script.

I can easily picture a scene where their family dog makes a messy poo on the carpet of Mrs. Heinz's townhouse and then Mrs. Heinz shoves Kerry's nose into the mess while screaming: "BAD BOY! BAD BOY!"

I can easily picture this scene:

TH: "I knew John Heinz. John Heinz was a husband of mine. You, Senator, are NO JOHN HEINZ!"

JK: "Yes, dear."

Teresa Heinz has taken the concept of P*ssywhipping to a whole new level. She uses her cash and property as a jerk chain to completely control John Kerry. Plus she gets to publicly humiliate him. Thanx Teresa. Now we know that Kerry suffers from horrible flashback dreams. Do you have any more humiliating tidbits about Kerry for us?

Huh. Your earlier post was deleted after I opened the main page, so I linked to the Washington ComPost from it and read it from there. You might think that the press would have a really, really hard time making this pair look like an attractive couple. But I suppose if they managed to do it with the Rodham Clintons, they can probably do something similar with the Heinz Kerrys. Anything is possible, if you sell your professional soul, lie like a trooper, and cover up hard enough.

It's painfully obvious what attracted Kerry to the bizarre Teresa Heinz. Money. Money. And more money.

Shades of McCain, who dumped his loyal first wife for a rich drug addict.

I loved this article when you first posted it. First off, I was embarrassed for Kerry in this article. And I thought he was the nutty one.

Kerry's computer screen is filled with a smiling photo of . . . John Kerry.

Then again, maybe he is.

In his defense, he probably doesn't even know how to turn the thing on.

John Heinz had a knack for applying the pointed questioning style that he honed in Senate hearing rooms to his home life. He would grill his wife about the food she was cooking, his three boys about school, Social Security, whatever came up at the dinner table.

I wondered what the source of this fact is. Could it possibly be the nutty Teresa herself?

I can't believe Kerry will run for President. Teresa Heinz is a loose cannon! Will he have her muzzled for the whole campaign? He'd be a basket case at every interview she had! Who would we see-the good Teresa or the evil one? I don't think he could shut this woman up.

Good grief, and we thought the occupation of the White House by the sociopathic Clintons was bad! The notion of these two nutjobs (yes, I think Kerry is as whacky as his wife) as President and First Lady is beyond comprehension.

I wonder why John Heinz IV started hating his mother when his daughter was born. That's a real poser.

Ya know, when you marry some heir-ass for money you are a limited partner.

A bone here and some money there. Do what she says Johnny, you are a a loser.

Edwards will smear you in a debate, Clinton will do it because her # is 666.

Fat Teddy will laugh as you hang on the gallows. Keep going “green” and you will fall from a tree.

Some people are meant to lead... some NOT!

(Christopher Heinz, now 29, declined to comment.)

Oh, but I wish he would. Let's hope he's a pubbie with a lot to say if Kerry gets the nomination.

She saw a psychiatrist who prescribed Prozac, one pill a day.

Lovely, a first lady on Prozac. I thought we dodged that bullet with Tipper.

She began devoting much of her time, energy and money to issues that John Heinz held dear in the Senate.

Ha! I bet John Heinz would have been a tax-cut advocate.

able to spin unscripted policy yarns on the environment,

You know, it's invariable that a stupid and/or rich liberal is an "environmentalist". It's the most gutless issue to have as a cause.

Kerry had been a prodigious but reluctant dater,. . . He became a "Senate hermit."

Oh, yeah, he was practically a monk. Where does the WP get these writers anyway?

Several of Heinz's intimates have died in crashes: Her husband, her sister (at 19), her grandmother and godfather.

WHAT?!? I don't know about this. This is too weird. Black Widow, anyone?

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, PJ. I don't find her nutty at all. This lady sounds interesting and attractive IMHO. She has experienced a lot of pain caused by accidental deaths of family members she loved. That kind of trauma changes people in very fundamental ways.

I don't care for John Kerry at all, but this woman has some very special qualities that benefit Kerry at a personal level. She would likely be a liability in a presidential campaign - which is a good thing from my perspective.

Just searching the Heinz Foundation, found this from the University of Virginia.

Here they claim she is one of most important environmental leaders in the United States. mmm. Leading us down the Smart Growth Agenda 21 path, no less.

ESTABLISHMENT OF THE TERESA HEINZ PROFESSORSHIP IN SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES IN THE SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE

WHEREAS, Teresa Heinz is one of the most important environmental leaders in the United States; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Heinz, as chair of the Heinz Family Philanthropies and the Howard Heinz Endowment, has helped develop strategies to protect the environment; and

WHEREAS, under Mrs. Heinz’s leadership, one of the established goals of the Heinz Endowments is to promote the design of urban environments in ways that advance sustainable communities; and

WHEREAS, the Vira I. Heinz Endowment has made a generous gift to the School of Architecture to establish a professorship; and

Here's more on Mrs. John Kerry's background with the UN.

(from her Bio)
Theresa Heinz is a powerful force in the environmental movement, through her philanthropic vision, her strategic thinking, and political acumen. Born in Mozambique and educated in South Africa and Geneva, Heinz worked in her early professional years for the United Nations.

I'm attracted to interesting women, don't see Teresa Heinz as crazy at all. Of course, I haven't met her - have you?

I'm very attracted to women with character and a mind of their own. Physical beauty isn't all that big an issue.

Teresa being from Portugal this lady has some fire and spice in her personality. I like that. I believe John Kerry is indeed a fortunate man to have married this woman - all the Heinz money aside. Hey, you have your opinions & I have mine.
