Does anybody have any more information on Leahy's 1987 forced resignation from the Senate Intelligence Committee?
I've not heard about this before.
Leahy made a deal with a reporter.....he would leave classified documents on his desk. When the reporter arrived, Leahy would leave the room and allow the reporter to peruse the documents.
This classified information was printed in the media, resulting in great harm to our intellience gathering people. I believe, but am not sure that an agent was murdered as a result of the released information.

That's why he is known as Leaky Leahy.
