It ain't about me. Pay closer attention to his rants and you will come to the same conclusion as you did with the article. Lots of noise without much substance. I quit listening to him about the middle of Clinton's second term. Got tired of golfing stories and name dropping. My guess is he has stolen as many "original ideas" as Doris Kerns Goodwin.

"Did Rush throw enough qualifiers in there?"
Not enough for me and no apology either so I will maintain radio silence for now.

"Rush comes clean, sort of. How about the resident Bush-bangers?"
Well, this makes Bush about one out of ten, but it's encouraging. When he doesn't do the right thing, like Steel tariffs, it come back to bite him bad. All Rush has been saying, and what the "Bush bashers" are saying, is that he knows better AND he doesn't get any political credit in the long run from compromising on principle.
I think the nutty ones here are the Bushophiles that act like the "Hear No, See No, Speak No Evil" monkeys.

I hear you, and perhaps my original tone was over the top. No offense. But I wouldn't go so far as to label him a phoney. The man's done a great deal for conservatism; given voice to many of our thoughts over the years, I daresay. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, given his track record. (But your point is well taken)
To: FastCoyote
I disagree with on the steel tariffs. He campaigned in WV that he would do it and he did it. He kept a campaign promise. Isn't that the principled thing to do? I mean Clinton promised he would it too and he didn't. See the difference?

I might be way off, but maybe Rush learned more of the Bush strategy than is mentioned. Could it be that Rush got inside info regarding the war on terror? Maybe the White House gave some implications regarding Iraq? Who knows, but it appears here that Rush is backing off a little and is complimenting the President more now on how his overall strategy is working. Does anyone else wonder about any of this or am I just off in left field?

Or maybe its because he reading FR and seeing how disappointed most of us are in him and vowing not to listen.

Whatever my spokesman said I deny. Clintonesque. I feel your pain. LMAO Geeze it hurts when he doesn't live down to your expectations doesn't it? Here put some ice on it.

Rush backpeddles faster than Deion Sanders.
Sorry Rush, won't work with me.

His conclusion is bizarre. He claims that because Bush says he does not support Kyoto, he doesn't agree that Human beings have changed the environment in such a way as to cause global warming. This is simply wrong.
It is perfectly reasonable to conclude that human generated CO2 will cause global warming and that we shouldn't do anything at all about it. If you don't believe so, read the book 'The Skeptical Environmentalist', and his section on global warming.
Essentially, the author's conclusion is that any but the most well-designed program to deal with global warming will cost more than global warming will cost, so, unless this perfect program is implemented, from a cost-benefit analysis, it isn't worth it.
Because I trust politicians to come up with perfect solutions about the time hell freezes over, I support doing nothing to prevent global warming, and just dealing with the consequences of it. In time, economics will move us to non-poluting energy resources; until then, as you were.

Maybe the comment about GW Algore was a little much for the President to swallow and maybe the President wasn't going to sit back and take a comment like that without a response.
To: rabbitdog
Maybe you're right... It does seem that Bush won the fight...

The President listened. That's what I was hoping to see and I'm heartened. Let's hope the head of whoever put this Algore stuff out rolls.

The President listened.
Huh? The report was published first and then all the commotion...

Somehow I just don't think that global warming is at the top of the Presidents' priorities list. I'm sure he has turned his full attention to the war on terror and the security of this country. It may be global glowing instead of global warming that has his concerns at the moment as it should.
To: Texasforever
Geeze it hurts when he doesn't live down to your expectations doesn't it? I never expected much out of the globalist Republicrat except what we've seen. What about you sheeple who thought he would reduce government, prosecute the crimes of the Clinton administration, protect the Constitution, etc.
Did you waste your vote on the duopoly?
To: marajade
As I suspected, the Bush-bangers just cannot get off that hobbyhorse.
To: UnBlinkingEye
Who's more full of $hit,
Rush or Bush? What would this forum be saying if Clinton tried to weasel his way out of his own administrations position?
Clinton!
To: clintonh8r
Rush is like Fonzie, He can't that he was "Wrrrrrr.............Wrrrrrr......"
That's WRONG Rush!
Rush, you blew it. As Cheney would say, "BIG TIME!".
