I have been into the fugs since I was a teen. Dr. Demento played 'boobs-a-lot" all the time on his show.

I forgot, "Strange Days" by The Doors. A perfect album in my opinion.

IMHO, Elton John is a wanker all the way.And he is, too, but thirty years ago he sure could hammer out a tune.

I agree that this compilation is way too scewed to the 60's and 70's. Don't be silly. Rock was stone cold dead by 1980. It was catatonic by 1970. Great Rock was '50s and '60s. Mediocre rock was '70s. After that there was only dreck.
There is a simple way to tell the difference. In Rock there were no fuzz boxes or other distortion toys hooked to the instruments. If the guitar is messed with it is dreck, not rock.

hendrix too?

hendrix too? Hendrix got that sound on pure talent, not boxes.

Pink Floyd-DSOTM, The Wall, WYWH
The Who-Live at Leeds, Whos Next, Tommy
Springsteen-Born to Run
And I would have put Sgt Pepper second under Pet Sounds. All recorded music is divided into two catagories; every thing before Sgt Pepper and everything after.

Like Janis Joplin and "Bobby McGee", it's the definitive version, and can't be matched.
I'm a Joplin fan (trying to turn my high school daughter onto her), but I also like Lee Ann Rimes' version a whole lot.
I saw Joan Baez sing "Me and Bobby McGee" live with the Grateful Dead once. They followed that with Simon and Garfunkel's "The Boxer." One of the finest moments I've ever seen at a show.

The few who know, know the truth.

Considering I was born in the late 70's, the first time I heard Montrose and noticed, which was on the radio in the early 90's, I thought it was a Van Halen song. I recognized Sammy Hagar on vocals. The song was "Bad Motor Scooter".
I found out it was Montrose and bought the CD.

David Bowie - Station To StationSorry, but that's a pretty lame Bowie album.
The Magnetic Fields -- 69 Love Songs is required listening.

Another one that should be on any list like this -- Jethro Tull's Thick As a Brick. Not only a great LP, but the cover art provided plenty of good reading.

Who's Next - absolutely my top - "Won't Get Fooled Again" the top song of all time IMHO. I remember back in 1980 and Jerry Brown was running for something, (president I think) and the DJ dedicated that song to him. Talk about ROTFLMAO! It's been one of my faves since.
