Oh I forgot about that. Its been a long time since he was getting treatment for his prostate cancer. I guess he must be cured of it by now.

It's a difficult type of cancer. If caught early enough can be eliminated, but that's unusual. It's one of the slowest growing form of cancer. Many men live with it for years before it takes them. Requires constant monitoring.

NO ABSOLUTELY NOT! I like Rudy, he is a good "moderate" Republican. I think that he is totally wrong on too many of the larger issues (guns, land rights) popular with us conservatives. If anything, let him run against Schumer in 2004.

I wish they would find a cure for all cancers. That disease is so devastating for all families.

"Someone else from NY has his eyes on the VP dream- George Pataki"
IMHO, wacky Pataki can't shine Rudy's shoes. The mayor is one tough hombre, as most of us in NYC knew way before 9-11.

Let Giuliani knock off Schumer in 2004, and then let Pataki tangle with the Miserable Shrew in 2006.

"He's a dreadful little man who does not play well with others"
Congratulations. You took the words right out of Al Sharpton's mouth.

I'd rather it be Bush-Rice.
Put a black woman on the ticket and the left will have one giant stroke trying to figure out how to attack them.
To: Coop
Maybe, but I have a feeling that if he thinks he can get that VP spot that is what he'll go for. A lot has changed for him since he ran for senator. I don't think he'd "settle" for it now if he has a choice.

IMHO, wacky Pataki can't shine Rudy's shoes. Yeah, George sure looked like Rudy' waterboy after September 11. George is also spends like a fifteen year old with a charge card (repeating myself for the 20th time), while Giuliani at least kept spending in line, by New York standards anyway.

Actually, that's a common misconception. Counting nine vice presidents who ascended to the Presidency during the former president's term of office, only 14 VPs have ever become president. In fact, in the twentieth century, only one VP was, immediately following his term, elected to president, and that's George Bush.

...while Giuliani at least kept spending in line, by New York standards anyway One of Guiliani's worst (among many) mistakes was that he failed to pay down NYC's debt - and in fact kept borrowing $ - during the recent boom years.
Now Bloomie and NYC are saddled with an approx $6 billion dollar deficit because of his policies.

BUSH-GIULIANI-04Is indeed a dream ticket, Rinos will carry N.Y.,Ca.and Tex., Dems could wind up carrying only one state.
The results of their governance could be almost effective as that of a Hillary/Daschle duet.
Fast-forward to the end.

Probably the only reason the
Observer has such a hard-on for Rudy is because he'd make such an easy target.
Heck, he dropped out of his race against the Beast.

Rudy's problem was that he got minimal slowdowns in spending despite fighting the city council on this issue. I have come to the conclusion that NYC will always run deficits, despite having the highest taxes in the nation. People don't seem to care, however, until we have a situation like '75 when all hell broke loose.

Concur. It will be interesting watching the RATS do mental gymnastics trying to slam Dr. Rice without alienating women and minorities.

Pataki is far more conservative than Rudy.
