CNN star Lou Dobbs hit maximum controversy after calling for a 'War Against Islamists.'

Dobbs made the comments Wednesday evening during the opening segment of his MONEYLINE program, which airs worldwide on CNN.

Dobbs: "The government and media for the past nine months have called this a war against terror. So have we here. But terror is not the enemy. It is what the enemy wants to achieve. So on this broadcast, we are making a change... in the interests of clarity and honesty. The enemies in this war are radical Islamists who argue all non-believers in their faith must be killed. They are called Islamists. That's why we are abandoning the phrase, "War Against Terror". Let us be clear. This is not a war against Muslims or Islam. It is a war against Islamists and all who support them. If ever there were a time for clarity, it is now. We hope our new policy is a step in that direction."

The comments immediately ignited angry phone calls to CNN, according to insiders.

With stunned viewers from Arab countries registering strong complaints.

The Dobbs comments -- which were not labeled commentary -- remained intact during reruns of MONEYLINE, after producers could not reach CNN News Group Chairman Walter Isaacson for guidance.

This is true. not all terrorists are are Muslim extremists. Some are Christian extremists, like the Army of God, and some are Christian/political extremists, like the IRA...then there are the Basques. While they ARE in the minority, we MUST keep an eye on these groups because they make temporary alliances with Islamic terrorists when their goals seem to temporarily coincide.

But that is what it is, we are at war with a group of people. They have no country, no borders, no currency, no government, most are Muslim, some are Arabs. That is what makes this war so unique and why we still seem befuddled by it. Declaring war in the traditional sense is difficult if not impossible.

This is a great step, someone in major media starting to define the enemy. Clearly once we do this we can then determine how to defeat them. We better hope like crazy they don’t get nukes, because if they do, this war changes in a hurry.

Well they can't fire him he's the highest rated finacial show on TV. Err... well in prime time I mean. After 6 PM, uh, between the hours of 6:02 and 6:13. Oh well hell he's pretty good...sometimes. Lou at least you get the Islamic thing even though your not a political show.

Hey, knowing CNN, they might even replace Dobbs with the fat Muslim apologist guy. Dobbs is right, though. Islamists do want all non-believers converted or dead. Islamists want the world to be under barbaric 7th Century Sharia law. All of the terrorists involved in attacks against the West (and Israel) are fanatical Islamists who view infidels as jihad-fodder. However, I'm with you in that it is not the sort of thing one says if they want to keep their job at a news network that is beamed into Arab/Muslim countries. (Or Euro-weenie countries for that matter...)
