**I read today your part of the state is having its first heat wave of the season. How hot did it get and more importantly will the electricity hold out? **

The past 2 weeks have gone from 83 to 101. Today we had a cooling trend...it was only 98. I'll have to check on the humidity index. We actually have humidity here. blah! What's crazy is that many evenings the 'Delta Breeze' comes through and cools it down to even 65 or 70 through the summer (in the evenings). Our whole house fan helps tremendously during those times.

California is such a huge state with many climates. I've just given you the Sac-a-tomatoes version. :o)

Ouch, that's hot. We're having a milder than normal Texas summer so far. I know it won't last, but I don't think we've broken 93 yet and have been lower than that most days. So much for global warming around here.

hsm, I'll never forget a few years ago, we were heading up the I-5 to Oregon to visit Mr. Inspectorette's family. Just north of Stockton, a double trailer tomato truck had overturned. Talk about your ultimate spaghetti sauce!!! Hubby was brushing crushed tomato out of the wheel wells for a week!

A couple of years ago, I was in SoCal in August. I was to stay at the same hotel as some friends and we planned to walk 400 feet across the street to the Ceritos Performing Arts Center to see Michael Crawford in concert. I figured I'd be the only one who would have to take a taxi those 400 feet because I have a heart problem and I knew the humidity would knock me out and make walking impossible.

To my total delight, the WHOLE weekend was humidity free. I walked all over the place with no problem. When I got back home here in the north, I took one step out of the airport and melted. HUMIDITY!

You're in Sacramento? I live about 40 miles east of you of off I80. Our evenings are much cooler.
