U.S.-based Al-Qaeda agents may attempt to hit the subways of New York and other cities with a lethal nerve gas by Independence Day, a federal source in Washington told The Post yesterday.

State and local law officials around the country were warned by the feds about the possibility of a subway attack "allegedly intended to bring America to its knees on Independence Day," said a new report by Philadelphia TV station KYW, which obtained the internal warning.

It depends, in Brooklyn they used to leave the doors between cars open and we knew how to 'hop' a train, it was very dangerous, but I still did it a few times!!

Now the doors are locked and I'm not thinking of getting in, but as you mentioned ...

how can I get out??

Maybe the bus?

I have only a 15 minute walk but I try to get to work by 6:30 - it would probably be good for me though.

In Brooklyn it takes 15 for the train to even threaten to show up...

add to that the time it takes to get a cup of coffee from, {you don't want to know} and you've already been there and done...

that!!

I mean this in the nicest possible way, but I hate you!!

Just kidding!!

I have a very bad feeling about 6/11, which is this Tuesday (9/11 was also a Tuesday). I realize that my bad feelings plus fifty cents will get you a copy of the Post, but there you have it.

I just don't believe they'd pull a major attack on the subways at any time other than the height of rush hour on a workday.

It was 40 cents for the longest time, and then it went up, or so I thought.

You're going to force me to check out the price of the Post on my way to church, you know. I'm going to have a hard enough time getting there today, what with the parade and all. :D

As the little boy continues to cry wolf, the citizens will continue to get desensitized to real dangers.

I should have said "My bad feelings plus $1.50 will get you a ride on the subway", but then we'd probably be talking senior-citizen or TransitChek discounts...

That is the real danger here. We still have to remain on alert, regardless of the number of times the little boy cries wolf.

It's fifty-cents in the outlying counties, i.e., Westchester, Nassau, etc.

Lotsa things happening on Monday and Tuesday in the caucasus as well.

Kavkaz.org has this - sounds like an uprising to me -
"The opposition called on the people to gather on June 10 at the Parliament building and support the Parliamentarians who insist on discussing the issue of appealing to the Constitutional Court in order to get the decision on President Robert Kocharian’s impeachment. The Leaders of thirteen oppositional parties of the Republic have united under the slogan «Cooperation in the Name of Democracy» and set up the goal to remove Kocharian from power."

Also something big will be happening in Georgia as the Russians are going there to talk about uniting against the chechen scum invading Georgia right now.
At the same time, those days are significant in that there will be troops from all over the world arriving at an airbase in Georgia per NATO - a "Partnership for Peace" thing.

"The NATO general Joseph Ralston, commander of the alliance’s European department arrived in Tbilisi on Tuesday to familiarize himself with the ongoing US military program in Georgia for “training and equipment.” 50 American military instructors are working with three special battalions, one armored group and one column of local border-guards. On May 27 the US instructors started headquarter training of 200 local officers. The arrival of general Ralston coincided with opening of Vaziani refurbished military base, which is to host NATO international program “Partnership for peace.” Up to 400 servicemen from 15 countries (eight countries among them are NATO members) will participate in the training which will be held 12-27 June. "

On yet another site this morning I found stuff about Bush giving financial aid to Russia to fight the chechens and Russia threatening to bomb Afghanistan ( to eliminate chechen training camps there).
That's a lot of threats to the jihadists coming at them right now. And a lot of unity among the rest of us coming together. Which I guess makes it a good time, to me, for them to do something....just my two cents.
