The hadith is very clear about Aisha (also called Ayesha) and mohammed. This comes from hadtih Bukhari, regarded as the most authentic hadith, together with hadith Muslim:

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 62 (Wedlock, Marriage (Nikaah)), Number 64:
Narrated 'Aisha:

that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old, and then she remained with him for nine years (i.e., till his death).

Volume 7, Book 62, Number 65:
Narrated 'Aisha:

that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old. Hisham said: I have been informed that 'Aisha remained with the Prophet for nine years (i.e. till his death)." what you know of the Quran (by heart)'

Though you do not find any stories of Jesus or any of the Apostles going on killing sprees or ethnic cleansing or Conquering.

The point is that non-religious folks have done far more harm to innocents. Look at China today.

Napoleon wanted to establish a state church and allow for Religious Freedom because he believed that Religion was the peoples opiate. It made them Meek and mild.

Anas replied, "We used to say that the Prophet was given the strength of thirty (men)." And Sa'id said on the authority of Qatada that Anas had told him about nine wives only (not eleven).

Volume 1, Book 4, Number 229:
Narrated 'Aisha:

I used to wash the traces of Janaba (semen) from the clothes of the Prophet and he used to go for prayers while traces of water were still on it (water spots were still visible). Volume 1, Book 5, Number 258:
Narrated 'Aisha:

Whenever the Prophet took the bath of Janaba (sexual relation or wet dream) he asked for the Hilab or some other scent. He used to take it in his hand, rub it first over the right side of his head and then over the left and then rub the middle of his head with both hands.

The "remarks" you refer to should be made much more often. It draws out of hiding the moderate muslims who are thought to be harmless by the communities in which they reside. These people are masters at keeping very low profiles. They certainly have not come out to condemn the slaughters commited on September 11, 2001. But they cannot let truth get in the way of the worship of their sham prophet. What better way to identify the zealots in the hordes of muslims we have living in our nation?

I am not sure if the 12 wives part is accurate, but yes he was a polyigamist and a pedophile. The 9 year old girl is true, however, he married her when she was 6, but Mohammad was no barbarian, he was a patient man and waited untill she turned 9, then raped her. It is written in the koran or the hadith about her and a specific time about her and their marriage, it was his last marriage. This kind of goes with the saying that a kid in my class used to use the bug the teacher, "Politically incorrect is a synonim for factually correct but somehow someway offending someone somewhere."
