One can be uncommitted on the issue of God's existence and still murderous.

Wow, don't go out on a limb or anything. Indeed, one can believe in God and be murderous, at least objectively speaking, and maybe even subjectively if one is willing to risk the wrath of whatever higher power to whom one subscribes.

True, I never said that the "church" or Islamic have never be murderous. Hell, Mohammad was a Mad Man who killed for the joy of it.

Though you do not find any stories of Jesus or any of the Apostles going on killing sprees or ethnic cleansing or Conquering.

The point is that non-religious folks have done far more harm to innocents. Look at China today.

Napoleon wanted to establish a state church and allow for Religious Freedom because he believed that Religion was the peoples opiate. It made them Meek and mild.

Though he himself once said something like "If I had to chose a religion; the sun, giver of life would be my God." Show you where he was at....Agnostic or Atheist, maybe Deist.
