Rep. Bob Barr is suing Bill Clinton, attack strategist James Carville and pro-Democrat pornographer Larry Flynt for "loss of reputation and emotional distress" and "injury in his person and property" when he was an impeachment manager in 1998.
Barr, R-Ga., says the unholy trio hindered him "in the lawful discharge of his duties." He wants compensatory damages "in excess of $30 million."
"When Barr's normally media-friendly lawyer, Judicial Watch president Larry Klayman, initially declined to comment on the lawsuit, we sensed that something highly unusual was afoot," Lloyd Grove wrote in today's Washington Post.
"The suit was filed very quietly back in March, but didn't come to light until yesterday, when Flynt issued a press release. Maybe Barr, who was mum yesterday, thought the publicity wouldn't help his tough primary race against Rep. John Linder, another Republican incumbent, in their freshly re-drawn congressional district."
So what do the sleazemongers have to say for themselves? Flynt croaked, in an insult to canines, "This time, Barr has kicked the wrong dog." Carville fumed, "To call this suit 'frivolous' would be to elevate the status of 'frivolous.'" Clinton pettifogger David Kendall told the Post, "The claims have no legal merit and will be defended vigorously."
Klayman's take: "I don't wish to comment on the substance of the case. However, it is serious, and the congressman is confident of prevailing."

If so, this move by Barr is idiotic. Just what the country needs, Bob, another lawsuit. Sheesh.
Barr should know better than to get involved with Klayman. When the best that Klayman can say is that "the congressman is confident of prevailing," I think that it can be safely assumed there are some very serious problems in the case.
This caused ME emotional distress !!
I AM SICK OF THE WHOLE WORKS ! If you are going to stand up for what is right...I applaud you, Barr..but when 4 years later, you tell me you are suing because IT WAS ROUGH DOING IT...you can cry alone. You are done.
You have made a laughing stock out of yourself and nothing more.
I want to get in on this one. I was "emotionally distressed" everytime I heard Carville's and Clinton's whiney, "I'll tell Mommy on you" voices. E-gad! Eight years of "Idiots on parade show!" How did we manage to live through it?

Don't get me wrong, but if Flynt and Company actually have proof on any of this stuff, we can expect them to use it, with both barrels.
The end result being Barr looking pretty bad right before the election.
Bob Barr started the lawsuit 3 years ago when Clinton was using Flint as a front for his FBI files to blackmail his enemies. It takes that long to get to court. Why has Judical watch had such a hard time nailing Clinton? Because Xlintoon selected the judges who hear must of the cases, judges selected solely for thier ability to toe the line, his evil line. One of those Clintnoid judges has even ruled against free republic I might add.
When you take on the most powerful man in the world, who is totally commited to evil and was protected from scutiny by the very press that was supposed to protected us from the likes of him by proclaiming the truth , rather than protecting him at the expense of the truth, you have to expected many setbacks and a long battle. You should thank Larry Klaman and Bob Barr and sing thier praises you disgusting rotten souls!
