The Arabs and the liberals would blame the United States. Bush would express his "deepest sorrow" and offer millions to help rebuild Mecca.

Cynthia McKinney would demand to know why the United States didn't shoot down the asteroid. "You can be sure that if that asteroid had been heading for Crawford, Texas, they'd have a found a way to shoot it down." she would would say.

Saudi Arabia would hold up care to the hundreds of thousands of wounded becuase of Islamic laws about the treatment of women. Also, Saudi Arabian bureaucracy and corruption would delay aid getting to the victims.

As a result, the death toll will rise. When the grim pictures come back, Dan Rather will blame the high death toll on the United States.

As for me, I'd just look up and say "Hey, God, nice shot!"
