MAKSOUD: I don‘t — I want you to live, so I‘m leaving.

What did he mean by that?

Now that I think about it, it looks like a death threat. "You don't want to be the next Salman Rushdie," in so many words. Filthy scumbag.

KEYES: I am sick to death, sir...

MAKSOUD: Well...

KEYES: ... of people coming on this program thinking that I should have patience with this kind...

(CROSSTALK)

MAKSOUD: If you‘re sick to death...

(CROSSTALK)

KEYES: ... of falsehood.

MAKSOUD: I don‘t — I want you to live, so I‘m leaving.

It was no death threat. He was just responding to Keyes being "sick to death" so he meant, paraphrasing, "well, if you're sick to death, I'll leave because I want you to live."

Still, his excuses for the terrorism were outrageous and inexcusable.

Correct Analysis! This was a not-so-veiled threat on the air, and is why he should have been picked up by the police and FBI as he tried to leave the studio. It is time we locked up the apologists, and neutron-bombed the Madrassas in Pakistan. This is not just the right thing to do, but is in our supreme national interest as a matter of self-defense. They may have started the Jihad... but by damn we should really FINISH IT.
