Its about god damn time somone stood up to these bullying currupt teachers unions. Here in NY, they forced one of my friends to switch political parties from republican to democrat, though he still votes republican.

The NEA has quite alot of power. Go against their mantra, you will be quickly branded. Just try to stop paying the dues and you will be blackballed and soon be out the door. You will never find a republican school board member stick up for a conservative teacher; filthy politicals.

I use to argue with fellow teachers when they went off the deep end with the "IT REALLY DOES TAKE A VILLAGE GARBAGE". I just avoid it all anymore. Pretty tough when starting teachers with 5th year degrees earn less than kids right out of high school at costco. Heading into another strike come August, don't need more enemies at this point.

Still about 1/3 of the teachers in my district are registered republicans.

Bottom line is the NEA is winning all the battles and the feds are in cahoots with them. More and more money being dumped down the black hole of education and more and more federal control over our schools. Until more conservatives become teachers, the NEA will never change and conservatives will continue to lose the battles over education.
