In all my years of having a cell phone, I have never picked up someone elses conversation. I have had static and lost connections, but never a cross link. Now my cordless phone is a different story.
Something sounds a little too good to be true, but Las Vegas and NYC are the two last places I would be with my family on the 4th, regardless.

Maybe he meant his portable house phone, his cordless. I have intercepted a few calls on mine. One was a guy calling a 900 number for them to call him back! I was talking to my Mom at the time!! She heard it all, his phone blasted me off the air, it was louder than mine. I wrote the guy's number down when I heard it, then called him and told him! It was a riot! I searched on the web for who the number was just to satisfy my curiousity, and it was registered to a woman!
No, I didn't wait for them to call back....

I have had my cell phone pick up other conversations, several times. My call would be crossed with another call & there would be 4 of us on the line. I have never had it happen on my portable house phone.

Well, my prayer to God is always that these plans would be thwarted. God could certainly cause something like this little glitch to happen. I don't put anything past Him!

I have two cell phones - an analog and a digital. I get crosstalk all the time, especially on the digital, and it's perfectly intelligible.
By the way, this is illegal, but if you have a television with an analog UHF tuner, it's easy to intercept cellular calls around channel 80. One side will come in clearly, and sometimes the sidetone will allow the other side to be heard too.
