The Bear Flag Revolt took place in Sonoma on July 14, 1846. The last battle fought in California during the Mexican American War was in February 1847 at the Battle of Cahuenga Pass near what is now Hollywood. On February 2, 1846, all of California, Nevada and Utah plus parts of Arizona, New Mexico, Wyoming and Colorado were aquired by the USA as a result ot the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo and a payment of 15 million dollars.
