I'm following the Van Dam trial, and find it strange that Westerfield is always referred to as well-dressed and well-mannered, and now this abductor sounds like he's also well dressed and polite....what's up with that?

The good news is that Jean Boylan said she could still get a pretty good composite out of Mary Katherine, even three weeks after the fact. She also said that nine year olds make very good witnesses--they are very observant. So why won't the Smarts let her do one now? MK is obviously not traumatized -- she is reportedly acting normal, playing with friends who come over, and having a good time with her new puppy.

They said that Uncle Tom was the one who vetoed the sketch by Boylan. He's not the father. Ed and Lois should have the last word on this decision.

Jean Boylan also said that she got the sketch of the Unabomber years after the witness had seen him. And that witness saw him only for a second.

I think the Smarts should give Jean a chance. Better late than never; and better yet while Elizabeth is still alive.

This is a very abnormal way of acting. Most parents would turn heaven & earth in the search for their child. Makes one wonder what is being hidden here.

The child has been questioned by several people already - so there is no common-sense reason for not letting an experienced sketch artist work with her.

When that original story came out about Elizabeth sleeping with her sister because Elizabeth's room was being renovated, I wondered where Elizabeth's bedroom was. Now the story has been changed to "they have always slept together." When the father mentioned something about bringing Elizabeth's harp "UP" to the garage, he seemed to kind of stammer and cut himself off when he said it, like he hadn't meant to mention the basement. The mayor's statement was interesting, indeed. I wonder if the basement bedroom was originally Elizabeth's bedroom......and if so, I wonder why nobody wants to talk about it.

Mark Klaas said that the only other person to turn down Jean Boylan's services was Susan Smith! This is not looking good for the Smart family. Too much covering--but for what? Maybe the NE reporters will ferret out more about this strange group. Carol McKinley said they (the tabloids) have SLC saturated; and when they go on an investigative romp, they PAY for information. Male escorts never turn down hard, cold cash.

It's too bad that Tom Smart and some other family members are too full of pride to listen to an expert like Marc Klaas, a man who has been in their shoes.

I don't know why the FBI doesn't INSIST on a composite sketch. Did they even ask MK if the perp had facial hair? One of the uncs has a goatee and mustache.

You know, a composite could eliminate family members just as well as incriminate them. All this speculation about it being an inside job would perhaps be unnecessary if the Smarts cooperated FULLY.

They are saying "rip us apart", "give us polygraphs", "we'll do anything to bring Eliz. back"--"BUT FOR GOD'S SAKE-- DON'T LET JEAN BOYLAN DO A SKETCH!!!"
