I hope the investigators are able to get some info out of Edmunds. Did FOX give any news on Edmunds' condition?

At 9:30 p.m. (mountain) tonight, there will be a special report on the Elizabeth Smart case on Salt Lake City's ABC affiliate, KTVX, Channel 4. They were the first to report last night's dog story (here), which has turned out to be a dead end, fortunately.

Fox News just told about Elizabeth playing the harp during the Olympics. So many people saw her. Someone could have paid to have her kidnapped.

I see I wasn't the only one who caught that. In one interview, the father made reference to bringing Elizabeth's harp "up" to the garage to put it in the car. He also said that one of the places he checked for Elizabeth that night was the bedroom in the basement, where the girls sometimes slept. These statements have lead me to wonder if the basement bedroom might have been Elizabeth's room. (Remember, we were originally told that the shared room was temporary while Elizabeth's room was being renovated.) At any rate, I found the former mayor's slip of the tongue quite interesting in that it was not the first time that basement bedroom has been mentioned.

Fox News- Geraldo's guest said that the NE information has to be investigated because it will determine if anyone in the family could have let unfavorable people have access.

The conclusion was that the guy in the hospital could have been a 'look-out' for someone else.

I don't know about all their family members (there are dozens of 'em), but the three uncs and Ed have all been wearing short sleeve shirts today and yesterday, as if to show the world that they have light hair on their arms. Maybe they want us to think it was Bigfoot!

A Freudian slip by the mayor? Could some of SLC's elite old Mormon guys have visited that basement for extracurricular activies? Why, in a house as large as that, would there even BE a bedroom in the basement? Or is it a combination disaster-shelter next to the storeroom with the one year's supply of food, etc.?

And if the girls sometimes slept in the basement (BTW, not a very safe thing to do)--how would the abductor know enough to go to the turret room the night of the kidnapping? A lucky guess?

I'm still trying to figure this one out!! The intruder supposedly was wearing a light jacket.

The strangest thing of all that I've heard is that her uncle Tom vetoed the woman who was going to do a composit sketch. They said the father & mother okayed it - but Tom told her they did not want her to do it.

AUTHORITIES TOLD NBC News’ Shellee Smith that Edmunds, 26, was cooperative. He reportedly told them when he left Salt Lake City, and where he went during his 2-1/2 week adventure, but he denied any involvment in Smart’s apparent kidnapping.
Edmunds admitted to sleeping in his car in Elizabeth’s afflluent neighborhood, but claims he didn’t see anything, officials told NBC News. He also gave them permission to search his green Saturn sedan, they said.

I think the police are assuming (rightly) that if you have hair on the back of your hands, you have hair also on your arms.
