Before I get flamed, has anyone explored the possibiity that this could be someone she met on the internet and discovered she got in over her head a little too late?

The family's computers have been examined and show no indication at all that anything like that has taken place ..... no evidence of chat room activity, emails, or anything by Elizabeth. Apparently she occasionally downloaded some music off the internet but that was the extent of her computer activity.

?? According to several published reports and posts here over the past few weeks, just about everyone has considered the Internet angle......
