Morning television darling Katie Couric may be extra early to work Wednesday.

That's when Couric may get to settle a score with one of the scheduled guests on "Today," conservative commentator Ann Coulter.

Coulter is supposed to show up to promote her new, 205-page book, "Slander," which hits bookstores Tuesday. In the tome, she rips into A-list names from the worlds of media, politics and entertainment in her quest to expose "liberal lies about the American right."

Katie Couric is a perky moron who wouldn't know what to ask a guest if the producer weren't telling her what to say. Ann Coulter will massacre her. Too bad I'd never waste the time watching "Today", but maybe Rush will make reference to it and play some audio on his show.

My bet it won't happen...someone else will interview Ann...Couric and Matt know they are out of their league discussing anything with Ann.

You got that right. I am really surprised Couric would even attempt the challenge. And who says she will? It may be someone else doing the interview, enabling Couric to make some snotty unchallenged remark afterwards. The liberal way.

I remember the half bright Couric asking the Marine Colonel in charge of the Capt O'Grady rescue, " Did Captain O'Grady eject before or after his F15 Eagle crashed into the ground?"

After a pause, the colonel replied,"We're reasonably certain the Capt O'Grady ejected befor the crash."

I never watch the Today Showbut will now make the effort. As for Katie versus Ann, Ann could tie "half her brain behind her back" and it would still be an unequal contest.

Wow, Ann got on the phone and asked to be put on the air opposite of Katie so she could promote her book? I had no idea it worked this way. /sarcasm

Couric will probably hold the interview outside surrounded by the homeless and jobless losers who spend four hours pressed up against the police barricades at Rockafeller Center. That way, when she tearfully reads some critical excerpts from Coulter's book..."And on page 54 you called me a 'major league dumb-ss'"... the emotional supporters of the Couric/Rosie/Regis trifecta can rise up against Coulter and pummel her with their Slimfast bars or whatever they brought for breakfast.
