There may be hope for the Clinton Library here in Little Rock after all. It could turn out to be more than the usual presidential shrine if it follows the lead of a seminar just held at Fayetteville, Ark., home of the University of Arkansas.

Despite its typically soporific academic title ("Vantage Points: Perspectives on the Clinton Presidency") the two-day meeting turned out to be a serious, if early, exploration of the weird decade we've just gone through. The seminar brought together an assemblage of experts on the Age of Clinton and, glory be, most of them didn't come across as experts at all. They made sense.

The supposed "Decade of Greed" saw more positive change under Ronald Reagan than Bubba's Decade of Sleaze. If the Clinton 90s don't go down in the history books as one of the darkest moments in our nation's history, it will be a travesty.

weird decade= perverted decade

It's not that we were drawn to the flame (the evil one) the way a moth is, it's that the freakin' media wouldn't allow us to avoid it! Everywhere we looked, those dogs were forced down our throats. The social engineers were the ones fascinated with that garbage, wanting to be entertained and romanced (yuck!) by that pig and his two piglets. We wanted nothing but escape, even if it meant death...

The 90's were the Decade of Lies

We are still suffering from its hangover.

Bill Clinton's bigger-than-life persona overwhelmed

The bigger the persona, the smaller the person.

Even C-Span got in on the act, with disgustingly frequent showings of X42. I really looked forward to seeing President Bush on C-Span after his election. Alas, C-Span changed its focus and hardly ever has programming time for Bush. They are booked up with leftist think tank reruns.

Now I take a back seat to no one when it come to loathing EX-president willard, but I've also got to give the devil his due. As a practical politician this guy is goood! I don't know of anyone else who did what this amoral-immoral scumbag did and get away with it. I'm not sure I like what that says about us as a nation.

"The bigger the persona, the smaller the person."

I heard his persona is wee and crooked, as in wee billy and his crooked willy! Didn't Paula Jones let that cat out of the bag?

My apologies to Socks, hiding under Betty's bed. But just think, better to be under a bed than be smashed in the head (ala Buddy)!

I certainly hope that Bubba's Decade of Sleaze is finally recognized as the Prelude to the 9-11 Terrorism Attacks....that is his real & horrific legacy!

It says more about the power of the media than it says about slick willie.

We have paid a terrible price for the legacy of lies, rape, greed, and constant corruption.

As we saw on September 11th. NEVER FORGET

Feel free... oddly enough, I don't think I have done a collection of links on Waco- in part because it has been covered pretty well by others, and also because I have some of that material in the "Janet Reno files."

Well, thank you!

I really think that when people finally look back and see clearly how thoroughly and badly they were hoodwinked- and not just by the clintons and all their worshippers in the media, but the dot-com stuff, the stock market, the "creative accounting" that seems to have become standard business practice- they will wonder

"What in Sam Hill ever possessed us to swallow all that hooie?"

I see strong parallels to the Roaring Twenties and their almost decade-long hangover, and the giddy carelessness of the 1990's...

I do hope the "New Century hangover" will be shorter and less severe, for everyone's sake.

I think it has to be, the economy is fundamentally strong, just not as glittering as the "fools gold" of the 1990's.

ROFLOL! Yes, I think it was Paula who told the world just how "wee" Wee Willy's winky really is!

BUMP from another unimpressed female.
