Could there be ties that one of the family members hired the group of thugs?

Why would they do that, though? I mean, I suppose we could drag out the old "polygamous cult" thing again, or perhaps a "jealousy of a jilted lover/brother" angle from the Enquirer's smutfest. But I think those would be just too strange, even for this case.

Personally, if this lead has merit, it sounds more like a couple of low-IQ types getting the hots for a pretty little blonde girl, and doing whatever they wanted with her.

There was a really horrible rape/murder case in Colorado Springs a few years back that makes it believable.

It would have been easier to grab her off the street. Why go to all of the trouble of breaking into the house and possibly being caught?

I don't know why anyone would do that, I don't know why anyone would kidnap her in the first place. I read on the first part of the thread that it had to do with a ransom, I was going by that. I have no idea, which is why I was asking? I meant no insult to my question, I apologize for how it came across.
