I thought that the tactic of accusing your opponent of being a homosexual was reserved for people arguing in favour of "homosexual causes".

Who is accusing whom of being a homosexual? Are you a homosexual?

Well, when I started this thread, I had no idea that it would turn into a semi-debate about adoption. Since I'm an adoptive mom, there are few topics that interest me more, and I have to admit that I teared up reading your post. It was great.

With thanks,

"The men said they are following Kentucky law in paying her only for medical and living expenses. Those costs run $1,000 each month."

I wonder how long after she volunteered to become a surogate she moved to a classier place, got a new car, etc.

For example, they look forward to raising their children in the Catholic faith, though neither has sought the opinion of their priest on the situation.

Judging by recent revelations about catholic priests I'm sure they'd be all for it.

"Both of these people sound like they'll make fine parents."

From a biblical standpoint, their relationship is clearly wrong. But even when homosexual marriage is looked at from a purely secular viewpoint it emerges as terribly flawed. They have, for instance, very high rates of domestic violence. This pile of research pretty much covers this issue if you care to take a look:

They can no more get what they need from a homosexual relationship than they could get nourishment by shoving beans in their ear.

Whoa there! If you keep suggesting things like that, there won't be a bean left in san francisco.

I'd say that outright asking about sexual orientation is a little more severe an example.

If you think that homosexuality is fine, why to be so defensive if asked?

Defensive? Actually, I find it a bit amusing. I can look at one debate regarding homosexual issues and find someone on one side claiming that a common cop-out tactic of supporters of the "homosexual agenda" is to accuse their opponents of being homosexuals and then I can look at another debate and find opponents of the "homosexual agenda" hurling the same kind of "are you a homosexual" accusations.

I believe that one "citation" used (I can't attest to the frequency, but I've seen it touted at least once) comes from a book where domestic violence issues in same-sex couples were analyzed. The authors stated up front that because the majority of perpetrators in reported domestic abuse cases were male they expected to find a higher rate of domestic abuse in same-sex couples involving two men (because you've got twice as many people at the "high risk" end). What is "cited" is the quote regarding their expectations, so basically it's a claim based on a prediction, not a result. From what I've seen of the results, I can understand why the result is tossed in favour of the prediction.

They are so desperate to feel "normal" that they are willing to do just about anything to attain "normalcy"

Exactly! A lot of people just don’t get it; it’s all about a coping mechanism to justify their filth and degradation. Two points for you.

Good thing there's no such thing as a bad or dysfunctional hetersexual family

That’s irrelevant because it’s completely disordered to compare right behavior with wrong behavior. It’s a straw man argument not to mention ludicrous.

I think it’s completely relevant if one argues to support their wrong behavior. And since when is a question an accusation?

Where?

I see nothing but components for a disaster.
