At least in that case there's some validity to the choice of target. A noticeable current of bigotry does underlie some of the anti-immigration talk. That's the reason Jim won't allow any of the VDARE stuff to be reposted here.
Whites, and white males in particular, are vulnerable to the "race card" in virtually any interaction with a minority.
I recently had what I thought was a professional difference of opinion with a black female colleague over an investment decision under consideration by my (then) employer. I thought it was a bad idea, and told her so. She replied, in an e-mail addressed to everyone involved, including three VPs, attacking me for disagreeing with her. Having no choice but to defend myself to all recipients of the e-mail, I replied in a point by point defense of my position, and admonished her regarding ad hominem attacks, rather than a debate on the issues.
She then replied, accusing me of racism - to the entire list of recipients, plus the VP of HR, and the black VP for whom I later found myself working. I had to get letters from a number of colleagues, including our local HR person, to undue the damage she attempted to cause.
My ultimate refutation of her allegation: We had orginally interviewed her for another job, for which another candidate was better qualified. However, unbeknownst to her, I was impressed enough with her specialized knowledge and skills, that I had personally lobbied to have a position created just for her - And forwarded copies of the e-mails to that effect.
Were it not for that fortuitous evidence, I believe that my career within that organization would have been irreparably damaged.
