Agree completely about getting his people out, to review what was actually said, not what the media wants to interpret as being said. Pat Robertson was just on CNN and only caught part of his remarks, but he seemed very happy with the speech.

Any country whose state-sponsored media supports terror, or any country who gives money to terrorist groups (he named them) or buys weapons from Iran, Iraq or Syria IS WITH THE TERRORISTS

Thanks, rw-I think we who did love this speech need to call and thank the President for it...and for backing it up with actions. (He will). But he has to fight the horrible State terrorist lover leftovers......so we must call!

202-456-1111.

Also, ask them to get the word out tonight since the evil pressterrorists are spinning the speech totally around from what he said!

Many people post those kinds of sentiments, and I merely pointed it out. For some reason you appear irritated.

If you will remember, we didn't exactly lay out our battle plan to the Taliban, either. It is much better for them to worry about the "or else" rather than spelling it out.

The "or else" doesn't have to include battle plans... but it does need to exist. The carrot needs to have a stick handy.

Many here have stated that Arafat and the Jihadists are less interested in a Palestinian state than in eliminating the Israelis from their part of the world. Since the speech was dangling the Pallie state in front of them, is it so unlikely for them to simply say, "So what? That's not what we really want anyway!" If/when they do say that, and continue the bus bombings killing a few dozen more schoolchildren, what will we do? Apparently nothing (other than restraining the Israelis), since nothing was mentioned.

I loved him calling out to the islamic PEOPLE yearning for democracy and capitalism! OVERTHROW YOUR TYRANTS!

Yes...this speech has much wider implications. I thought it was a greaet speech, although it would be nice to know more about where Bush actually thinks the borders should be. The settlers are not happy though...that's for sure.

The US still sees it as an occupation (as does the rest of the world).

Yeah. All the kooks that don't know (or rather in their eagerness to kiss Arab a$$ don't give a sh*t about) what occupation actually means. If that defines Bush, then God help the world.

One day George W. Bush, said this:
From this day forward, any nation that continues to harbor or support terrorism will be regarded by the United States as a hostile regime.

(Address to joint session of Congress on the evening of September 20, 2001)

He recoginized that it is a nation -- all the people of that nation, together -- that harbors or supports terrorism! Not just some clique of elite tyrants. Everyone, in aggregate.

Of course this is true -- just look at the experience in Italy versus Germany during WWII, the Italians as a whole nation didn't support the war wholeheartedly. There was a considered partisan movement, a considerate in-fighting ven among the Italian fascists. Eventually the Germans had to sent in troops and take over. Individually many Italians acted against the Nazis and Facsists -- that activity was obvious, was undeniable, had enough strength to provoke the German response.

However in Germany, the whole nation -- with very few exceptions, hardly of any force -- highly supported the Nazis, or at least the concept of a Triumphant Germany. Old and young men took up arms for the Fatherland.

In Palestine, it is the nation that is set to terror. There is simply NO evidence otherwise, and all evidence is horridly but truely otherwise. That the Palestinians are a people set to terror, set to exterminate all Jews.

There are a few people of peace, but like Lot and his daughters in Sodom, they are like nothing, and can be naught otherwsie given as everyone is so set to hate and murder.

So even bask then in September, only nine days after 9/11, Mr. Bush was blurring the lines -- for rather than allowing us -- the US of A -- to go after whole nations set to terror, we are limited to regimes, and will be wasted on effort after effort knocking off this group of leaders then those who follow, again and agsin, for it is the nation that raises the regime that leds it, and not as common to have a regime divorced or at odds with its people.

In any case WE need to be clear, and have wisdom as which we are up against. In Afghanistan, it was -- seems pretty clear now -- a regime -- the Taliban and their allies in Al Queda. A regime and not the whole Afghan nation.

In Palestine, and mark my word, in Saudi Arabia, as well -- it is the NATION set against us.

Pres. Bush: The United States, along with the European Union and Arab states, will work with Palestinian leaders to create a new constitutional framework, and a working democracy for the Palestinian people.

Is there any statement made by either the EU or Arabs supporting a democracy in Palestine? Why should the PA take this seriously?

Kristol hasn't said it......yet.

...the United States will not support the establishment of a Palistinian state until its leaders engage in a sustained fight against the terrorists and dismantle their infrastructure.

I love a plain-spoken man!
