More intelligent moves from that great bastion of peace and harmony, Africa.

madness that runs rampant in Africa that makes one exclaim, like Kurtz, "the horror, the horror!"

A sensible policy by the rulers of Zimbabwe. For years whites have been stealing the food from the ground. By putting an end to this theft, euphemistically called farming by these evil whites, the food in the ground will be available to be shared by all the people of Zimbabwe, and the food shortage problem will be solved. Everyone will live happily ever after.

They may be engaging in ethnic cleansing, mass murder and all manner of atrocities, starving themselves to death, destroying their economy and turning their country into a wasteland, but at least they won't be pushed around anymore by those damned white colonialists anymore.
Ah, the sweet, pestilent joys of aboriginal freedom!

It makes no sense to send food to Zimbabwe to feed the starving WHILE that government forbids its farmers to even grow food!

If Atlas hasn't shrugged already, now would be a good time.

Hitler's back, and this time he's black. The whites in Zimbabwe should take their cue from the Jews in Nazi Germany and leave before it is too late. I'm sure many think that things will eventually get better, some Jews thought the same and the rest is history.
I give it five years before there isn't a single live white person in Zimbabwe. Some will leave, the rest will be killed. Hopefully more will leave. I know this is a grim outlook, but I don't see how it won't lead to this.

Incredible. Your basic Stalinist death-wish. Of course, Stalin himself didn't have to worry about starving to death, and neither does Mugabe. As for all the rest of his people - eh! can't make an omelet without breaking eggs.

from a Yahoo news article:
"The law comes into effect as the European Union ( news - web sites) on Monday allocated $5.9 million to provide aid to hungry Zimbabweans, and again condemned the policies of President Robert Mugabe for aggravating his country's food crisis."
"The World Food Program estimated nearly half the country's 12.5 million people would need food assistance this year. The crisis was caused by dry weather and the often violent seizure of land by Mugabe loyalists on the commercial farms, which are about five times more productive than small-scale farms, the WFP said."
"The private sector has a leading role to play in bringing in food on the market," said Poul Nielson, EU aid commissioner. "The government must remove the constraints which are preventing this from happening."
So, the already over-burdened US taxpayer, via the agency of the commie UN, will now have to fork over yet more untold millions of $ to feed a nation that is in the process of self-destruction through more Marxist-inspired madness. Yup, makes a lot of sense to me!

Of course here in America, farming your land is legal. But we'll pay farmers not to do it.
See that's how real Democracy works.

“People cannot just get up and walk away from everything they have built up in their lives. It’s absolutely unconstitutional.” R J Rushdoony, a valued mentor, wrote of the puritan "doctrine of sunk costs." Survivors of Nazi and Communist takeovers saw the writing on the wall, and beat feet to start anew somewhere else. They strolled away from home casually dressed, as if for a brief walk. Purchased a series of short-trip train tickets. And got themselves and their families out alive.
The folks who tried to preserve their wealth rarely made it -- the suitcases gave 'em away.
This was also the advice Jesus gave His hearers about the pending Roman seige of Jerusalem -- leave your stuff and get out while you can. As long as you are alive, with your skills and work ethic, you can rebuild.
