As an opponent of so-called "humanitarian" wars in general, I could not in good faith advocate a similar US intervention in Zimbabwe to that which we illegally undertook in Bosnia and Kosovo.
But the Brits are walking in different shoes than us here. These Rhodesian whites are essentially British; descendants of Brits who settled the land at the behest of England. The British should not let them be exterminated at the hands of savages such as Mugabe. When the killing hits a crescendo, or better yet, before- the Brits should put paid to Mugabe's account. And America should not get directly involved, America should heartily cheer the Brits on.

I disagree. The Rhodesians wanted independence, and they declared it. Just like we did. (Well, not quite). I wouldn't expect or want the Brits to come bail us out if we were attacked because of some ancient familial ties.
The Brits have no more responsiblility to them than we do. It's just as much our fault they're in the mess they're in.

Well you may be right, but that would be up to the Brits to decide, not us. If they did go to war I would support going alongside them; not that they'd really need our help, but they are one of the few that have truly (not fake like so many others) come to our aid in this war against terror (Islam).
