Voters want Senate to help, not hinder, Bush

Inside the Beltway, its easy to succumb to the politics of Novembers elections. Whos up, whos down, what the latest poll numbers are what the media like to call the horse race.
The folks I talk to around the country see it differently. Americans are tired of watching Senate Democrats play partisan political games with President Bushs agenda. They know that the only way to ensure progress is to elect a Republican majority the president can count on.
Just this month, the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) posted an online petition, asking our supporters to tell the Democrats that its high time the Senate considers President Bushs judicial nominees. Nearly 45,000 people have come online to sign the petition because Republicans know the balance of power in the Senate makes a huge difference in the way the country functions. They want the United States Senate to do its job and act on the presidents nominees.
If anyone needs more evidence of the crucial importance of Novembers elections, they need only to monitor the Democrats campaign to thwart, obstruct and mangle the presidents agenda over the last year. Just last week, Senate Democrats derailed a permanent repeal of the death tax. A Republican Senate would have passed this legislation and helped the farmers, ranchers and businesspeople who want to protect their childrens future from oppressive estate taxes.
Senate Republicans will be on offense in this years elections. Around the country, our candidates are talking about the issues people care about including taxes, healthcare, education and national security. Weve recruited candidates from all walks of life, including successful businesspeople, a doctor and individuals who have served with distinction in Congress or at the local level. Leaders like John Thune in South Dakota, Jim Talent in Missouri, Norm Coleman in Minnesota and Greg Ganske in Iowa have years of demonstrated leadership in their states. I am looking forward to working alongside these leaders and other new Republican Senators next year in the Senate.
......... With control of the Senate (and the progress of President Bushs agenda) hanging in the balance, Senate Republicans are not taking any race for granted. We know the math: Republicans are defending 20 seats this year, including four open seats, while the Democrats only have 14 seats up in November.
Thats the bad news. The good news is that our candidates are running in states that voted for President Bush and we have a strong slate of challengers who are ready to lead next year. As a surgeon, I like to say that we may have more patients, but the Senate Democrats have more in critical care.
With 142 days left until Election Day we plan on working hard to give voters a clear choice this fall obstruction or progress. Republicans have the candidates, the message and the resources to prevail.
With the United State Senate so evenly divided, supporters from Maine to New Mexico are rallying behind our effort to regain the majority in this years elections. As chairman of the NRSC, Ive traveled the country and have seen firsthand the tremendous amount of enthusiasm and energy out there. We have the candidates, the message and the resources to prevail. When the stakes are this high, victory is our only option.

What do we do about the press?
Newt just said on Hannity and colmes and this judge that made the ruling was brought back to the bench BECAUSE the DemocRATS will not approve President Bush's nominees!
A big amen to that!
Not much for dealing with reality are ya?. Thorazine can have that effect on a person.

Unfortunately, Bush and the RINOS are busy trying to nominate liberals like Lamar Alexander, Liddy Dole, and Greg Ganske (who already "won" his primary).
With liberals like these being forced upon us in the primaries, even if the GOP retakes the Senate, I don't expect to see a big change in the direction of our tyrannical government.
I love it when the best argument a Bush basher can come up with is insults. Quick, pull up your pants. Your tail is showing.
