Uribe won't mess around. Unfortunately, he won't get craop from Congress because he is close to the paramilitaires (aka the AUC). If CIA or someone on NSC is serious about helping Colombia, I fear it will take a covert operation.

This is a problem, unfortunately. I hope somebody somewhere will take this seriously enough to do whatever needs to be done, however.
