This false doctrine is hammered to them in law school. Funny not too many of them ever challenge the fact that it's not in the Constitution that way.

Beg to differ. In law school it is specifically taught as not having been in the constitution. Court interpritations which have been devined by the courts despite their absence from the constituttion are specifically and routinely identified.

the issue in law school (depending on the professor de jour) is the reasoning for the conclusion. Ie. using the commerce clause to extend federal laws.

Law professors are often identified as refugees from the legal profession. The largest problem with law schools is the left bias of admission committtees. I have observed the left bias of students is generally (in part) cured by joining the workforce.
