For me, the story of Father Michael is one of Redemption.
Once we grasp the idea that Christ died, and died for each one of us...well, then, anything is possible.
And the possibilites are endless!

Hello? Fire Commissioner Thomas Von Essen has said that Fr. Judge came out to him. Is Von Essen lying? Fr. Judge may not have been a "leader" in the gay community, he may have been celibate, but he was certainly gay. Anyone interested in the truth?

In contrast, the killers at Columbine were announced as homosexual by their fellow students but this little fact was missing from all reports after the live comments.

In fact, when one newspaper wrote an article proclaiming that Father Mike was homosexual and the newspaper was challenged about the story, the editor's response was shocking. The editor wrote that it really didn't matter if Father Mike was a homosexual or not. Homosexuals are a disadvantaged group, the editor said, and if the story helped them with their self-esteem, then Father Mike would be happy. In other words, the truth about Father Mike being a faithful Catholic priest didn't matter in our Politically Correct world. The editor wrote that? That I would love to see. Which editor would be brazen/stupid enough to admit that PC trumps truth in his paper?

Anyone interested in the truth? Very interested. Care to show us where Commissioner Von Essen has gone on record?

New York Magazine, 12 November:
"'I had no problem with it,' Von Essen says. 'I actually knew about his homosexuality when I was in the Uniformed Firefighters Association. I kept the secret, but then he told me when I became Commissioner five years ago. He and I often laughed about it, because we knew how difficult it would have been for the other firefighters to accept it as easily as I had. I just thought he was a phenomenal, warm, sincere man, and the fact that he was gay had nothing to do with it.'"
I have no reason to believe Fr. Judge did not keep his vows. But the fact is, he identified as gay.
