Well, I am working out of memory here, but the horse was named War Wagon or War 'something'. The owner was a Prince of the Saudi Arabian Royal Family and when asked what the American people should think about his win at the Kentucky Derby, he replied similar to, 'I have become more popular then George Bush'. He said that as he raised the trophy.
Needless to say it did not surprise me any. My recall is all out of memory from the NBC live telecast earlier in the year, but it should be fairly accurate. The other interesting part of the story is that the horse was just purchased a month or two before the Derby ! The irony of it all !
