It had stopped for most of the day but then started again at about 715pm and just poured while we ate dinner. It at this time is still steadily raining, not heavy but steady.

I was listening to KTSA, Jack Riccardi and he was asking listeners if they thought this flood was worse than the FLOOD OF 1998. What do you think? I think it has rained more but not been as dangerous because there has not been as many deaths this time around.

After dinner last night we drove out IH10 to Boerne Stage and there was lots of damage in that area. What's it doing tomarrow? I am sooo bad, I never watch local news so I have not a clue!

In a couple of those golf pictures, where he has the cap on, he looks a lot like his dad.

It was 68 here -- the skies are conflicted. Clouds, sun, nice breeze. Perfect walking weather. Put in 55 minutes briskly along the big lake's shore nearby. It's supposed to be about the same on the 4th. The good news is I like that kind of weather better than 100 degrees. And the other good news is I did a web search for walking trails in my county and found miles and miles of them!

It doesn't matter what algor is doing. He just looks wrong all the time.

And tormented. Check out his eyes and the muscles around them -- perfect example was posted on the Dose a couple nights ago when the wannabe prez was struttin' with the Missus. Also check out the plastic smile.

Tormented.

MamaB will probably not post tonight, she had to take Jan to the hospital again. She was dehydrated. She wanted me to let everyone know. She also wrote the following:

Hi, I just got a phone call from Jan and she said the drs. found out what is wrong with her. Her bicarbs are all messed up which is affecting her acid/alkaline levels and that is messing up her whole body. I have never, ever heard of such. MamaB

I don't go online as much as I did. Now that I am a bit better from being sickly most of the first five months of this year, I am using my small bits of energy to do little things like studying, weeding and housekeeping. I also spend some time with my husband.

It's not a lot of fun to come to FreeRepublic and face the negativity of the Bush bashing so I don't have the incentive any more to drop in as much. I do try to read the Dose before I go to bed at least every other day and sometimes come on line earlier to join in. I think you all are tops!

A good Psalm for today and the "threats" that surround us. We, too, like David, have many enemies who "hate us with cruel hatred." Surely we can pray to our God: "Let not our enemies triumph over us!"

And, too, we can pray for God to redeem Israel out of all her troubles - and America too - for the troubles are many.

Here is a prayer for all tonight or tomorrow who read this for God our redeemer to forgive us all our sins and for Him to redeem us all out of our troubles.......for they are many...but He is faithful and is with us through them all. May He redeem these troubling times - bringing us through them - and making even our enemies to be at peace with us!

God bless all on the 4th! And God deliver us from our enemies on the 4th and on into days ahead. Thank you, Dear God, for the deliverance from further attacks from 9-11 through today. Deliver us tomorrow, and beyond. Thank you, Holy and Righteous Redeemer! Amen!

Psalm 25

A Plea for Deliverance and Forgiveness

A Psalm of David.

1 To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul.
        2O my God, I trust in You;
        Let me not be ashamed;
        Let not my enemies triumph over me.
        3Indeed, let no one who waits on You be ashamed;
        Let those be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause.

        4Show me Your ways, O LORD;
        Teach me Your paths.
        5Lead me in Your truth and teach me,
        For You are the God of my salvation;
        On You I wait all the day.

        6Remember, O LORD, Your tender mercies and Your lovingkindnesses,
        For they are from of old.
        7Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions;
        According to Your mercy remember me,
        For Your goodness' sake, O LORD.

        8Good and upright is the LORD;
        Therefore He teaches sinners in the way.
        9The humble He guides in justice,
        And the humble He teaches His way.
        10All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth,
        To such as keep His covenant and His testimonies.
        11For Your name's sake, O LORD,
        Pardon my iniquity, for it is great.

        12Who is the man that fears the LORD?
        Him shall He teach in the way He chooses.
        13He himself shall dwell in prosperity,
        And his descendants shall inherit the earth.
        14The secret of the LORD is with those who fear Him,
        And He will show them His covenant.
        15My eyes are ever toward the LORD,
        For He shall pluck my feet out of the net.

        16Turn Yourself to me, and have mercy on me,
        For I am desolate and afflicted.
        17The troubles of my heart have enlarged;
        Bring me out of my distresses!
        18Look on my affliction and my pain,
        And forgive all my sins.
        19Consider my enemies, for they are many;
        And they hate me with cruel hatred.
        20Keep my soul, and deliver me;
        Let me not be ashamed, for I put my trust in You.
        21Let integrity and uprightness preserve me,
        For I wait for You.

        22Redeem Israel, O God,
        Out of all their troubles!

Well, he might have been tormented in that pic because he needed female undergarments, which is hard to accept for an alpha male, or most likely he's tormented because he sold his soul to the devil to get into national politics as a RAT.

Then again, look at our beautiful President's face.........his eyes are filled with joy and peace, and he radiates love around everyone..........especially his beloved Laura!

Speaking of whom, I'm working on a sketch of her! I want to capture her laughing eyes and sparkling smile.....and I won't quit until I get her just right!

The acid/base balance in the blood is regulated through carbon dioxide and bicarbonate buffering system. People can only survive, their enzyme system only work, within a narrow range of blood acidity, so the buffering system is essential to life.

The kidneys and the lungs are the two biggest organs in regulating the blood acidity via bicarbonate, which is carbon dioxide changed into a salt form that is soluble and can be excreted via the kidneys, where carbon dioxide (our waste product after breathing in and 'burning' oxygen) is excreted as a gas via the lungs.

There are lots of reasons why this system can be overloaded with acid (like diabetic ketoacidosis) and bicarb thrown off kilter trying to regulate the excess acid or alkali(base).

I will sleep well tonight!

1.) I will have visions of our sexy, sweaty, sweet President (just look at that charming, "I didn't do it mom, honest!" smile) "golfing" in my head -- Tiger has nothing on our Dubya!

2.) I will have the satisfaction of reflecting on the President's recent Gallup ratings -- back to 76% three weeks after Gallup and USA Today gleefully announced that his ratings had "plummeted" to 70% and were poised to go even lower!

3.) I will have the relaxed glow of someone who was spared (at least for today) the hysterical machinations of the media and its reporting of the "down" market. NOTE: I thought it was appropriate that the market ended on an "up" note going into the July 4th holiday!

Relative to July 4, we should all reflect on the following quote from John Adams (as reprinted in Lynne Cheney's bestselling children's book "America: A Patriotic Primer"):

Shortly before the Declaration of Independence was accepted, John Adams wrote to his wife, Abigail, "I am well aware of the toil and blood and treasure that it will cost us to maintain this declaration and support and defend these states. Yet through all the gloom, I can see the rays of ravishing light and glory." These comments are as true today as they were in 1776!

Happy birthday America!

patriciaruth, we miss you...........I miss you!!

Please don't let the nasties get you down permanently! They are a despicable lot, and are filled with so much hatred and anger that they are to be pitied.

We need your wisdom and knowledge around here, and the information you can share about our fantastic President is really needed. You are a treasure and you need to stick around!
