Seems you have a plan. If you don't hold an office why don't you run for one? It's better to change things from the inside rather than waiting for someone to come along to implement your plan.

Thank you for the heads-up on this thread ... This says it all, doesn't it. "What if it's too late and we learn that either a majority or a substantial plurality of the American people are really socialistic rather than conservative? Then the people are not "United" and don't share a belief in the principles of freedom that made the United States great. If that is true, the sooner we get on with secession and the reinstitution of a new Constitutional republic that guarantees freedom the better. |

Thank you for bumping this thread. It is the most worthwhile one I have read here in quite a few years.
I was out of town when it was first posted so I deeply appreciate its "resurrection". It expresses the depth of thought and commitment to constitutionality which used to be the norm here.

Your perspectives on the situation are clear and reasonable.
Your ideas for remedy are timely and innovative... BUT,
without a "Field General" or "Quarterback" leading the way
NOTHING will ever change in favor of the people.
This forum is pretty much reflective of life in that we have
much discussion on the subject, but no follow-through action
by other than a very small percentage of those who got the message.
If someone were capable of spearheading a POWERFUL mass movement
of the people in this NEW direction nearly all of Washington would
"about face" in 10 minutes or less to acquiesce to the wishes of the people.
Discussion ideas like this are the foundation for the beginning
of such powerful movements... but without a leader who can
employ strategies and tactics that would crumble the present paradigm
all we can do is read these various posts, agree or disagree, and then
continue to live in quiet desperation.
Is there a leader ( man or woman ) among men who can
break the cycle that now exists ?

Bush has lost my vote. He lost it to numerous leftist decisions (CFR, agreement that there is global warming, farm bill, etc). He can gain it back with strong anti-abortion policies and making good on his campaign promise to partially privatize Social Security.
My vote is also up for sale. My terms are somewhat different. Howard Phillips seems to be the leading bidder, but I'm uncomfortable with his lack of experience, and you are right that a third party cannot beat democrats, yet.
