Some of our friends abroad complain that George W. is trying to be Daddy Warbucks, and they don't like it.

But they're blaming the wrong daddy. It's not the filthy-rich captain of capitalism, buckling swashes and always arriving just in time to rescue Little Orphan Annie (and her faithful dog Sandy) in the comic strip of yore, who bugs our friends, but Daddy America.

Really witty George. You're just pissed that you and Dubya have the same moniker. I wonder, has any interviewer asked George point blank what he means by these lyrics? Is he suggesting that someone ought to shoot our President and/or his Prime Minister?

They're unhappy now, when we're till being soft on them - wait 'til they see what happens when the girly-men and the collaborative/situational girly-men leave. A lot of countries are going to be a lot more interested in what the U.S. wants...

I read Mr. Pilger's article in the Mirror.

Bilgewater is something I am familiar with, having pumped a few bilges in my day. The smell is unforgettable, and I have cought a whiff of bilgewater coming from Mr. Pilger's pen.
