Compliance with government policy and maintenance of the status quo will assume greater and greater importance, as more workers become dependent on government-subsidized salaries.

Vouchers go to parents. Not the schools. Therefore, there can be no government involvement - separation of church and state, remember? If parents choose religious schools, the government can't get involved in their religious choices.

vote "yes" for vouchers and school choice. Shut down the indoctrination centers ASAP.
Each year thse liberal centers create thousands of indoctrobots. Only the liberals and libertarians want public schools and the lifestyles they teach. Others want the freedom from indoctrination.

Vote for parential choice. Vote for freedom. Don't let others with political motives dictate for you.

I'm glad to see others understand the issue. There are several reasons why vouchers will not mean government control of private schools. Like I posted above, I believe this is a NEA scare tactic.

I'm neither a liberal nor a libertarian and I'm totally opposed to government controlled public schools. My child goes to a private Christian academy. I am opposed to school vouchers because I want to see my child's school remain a high standard private school, not a dumping ground for the liberals' problem kids who are now not allowed to enroll.

Vouchers will bring government control to any private school which cashes a voucher. This is being made a federal issue as we speak, thanks to liberal republicans who, as usual with every issue, fail utterly to understand the problem.

What we should all concentrate our efforts upon is the abolition of the federal Department of Education. That was the goal at one time and all that has changed since we made it a goal is that the GOP leadership decided to give socialism one more chance.

Let them stick their silly voucher plan where the sun doesn't shine. It is a poor replacement for the action that is needed, the dismantling of a federal department and the rejection of a labor union as the final authority in schools.

You wouldn't take food stamps would you? Why do you want a voucher?

I was not aware that libertarians (or even the Libertarian party) supported "public schools." Would you care to point towards something that supports that statement?

I have to disagree. There is absolutely no legal principle that I am aware of that prevents the Federal government from imposing any sort of condition they wish on schools that wish to receive Federal money. And merely because the parents will be "spending" it doesn't make it any less the Federal government's money.

How about tax credits for private secondary school education? The cynical side of me thinks that there are some "conservatives" who merely want a government entitlement to a private school education for their children.
