Pray for Bush Day 659- & the U.S. Senate

Dear Heavenly Father,
I thank You for this Lord's day and for the message this morning in church. I thank You for the opportunity to worship You in spirit and truth with my brothers and sisters in Christ. I thank You for the opportunity to pray here this afternoon and lift our petitions to You. You are a wonderful God and I love you and praise You for all You are and for all You do.

Lord, I lift up President Bush and ask that You would guide him and give him wisdom throughout this day. Help him to follow in Your steps and to not stray. Help him to stand strong in the face of opposition and to not back down when the cause is right, and just, and true, and Godly. And, protect him from every harm, and his family.

I pray for the United States Senate, specifically for the legislation that they have before them and that which shall come before them in the future. Lord, I pray that they would act as wise and not as fools regarding these pieces of legislation, and if there is something which violates Your standards of righteousness and justice, that that bill would fail. Conversely, if it is something which is good, and pure, and true, and reflects Your will- let it pass no matter what the pundits might say. Restore justice to America, and protect our Freedom to worship You above all.

Go with us the rest of this day Lord and until we meet again. Be in our services this evening. For it is in the precious and holy name of Christ Jesus my Lord and Savior that I pray, Amen.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the blessings of this Lord’s Day and the freedom we have to worship You. Thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit’s presence and for the joy of knowing that You are closer to us than our very own breath. Come into our hearts, Lord Jesus, this day and warm our souls with the power that can only come from knowing You. Fill us with the knowledge of Your will in all things, and let our own wills be conformed to Yours.

We pray today that President Bush would be covered with Your mantle of blessing and that he would have an awesome sense of Your presence in his life. Use his time with his family to revitalize him, Father, and use the time he spends with You to renew his spirit. Please fill his mind with Your wisdom, his body with Your strength, his eyes with Your vision, his ears with Your Word, and his heart with the desire to do Your will. Go with him this week, Father, and guide his every step. Help him to know YOUR will regarding human stem cell research. Help him to stand strong on what YOU want for Your people. Please let no decisions be made by him that would contradict Your Word or Your teachings. Help him to continue to fight the war on behalf of the unborn. May Your warriors be there with him, Father, setting the unborn free from the hand of the devil who wants them slain.

Father, we pray for wisdom for the U.S. Senate. Help them to understand the need to limit the size of government instead of enlarging it. Help them to understand the tremendous burden they have placed upon taxpayers in this nation. Convict their hearts to legislate only laws that honor You and Your Word. Please help the Senate leadership to commit their hearts to You.

Father, we are grateful for prayer warriors who give their hearts to praying for President Bush and our nation. May Your blessings be upon each of them. We ask that You would work out every area of concern in their lives, and hold each one of them close to Your heart. We are thankful for all the answers You have provided to our prayers, Father. They are more plentiful than even we are aware, and we praise You for Your faithfulness to answer. May all the prayers offered on this thread during the coming week be pleasing to Your ears and may the Holy Spirit add to our prayers to make them perfect. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Saviour and King, Amen.

Dear Lord, I ask that the wisdom that comes through Your hand will set righteous people up into office this autumn and remove those dead branches from every legislative chamber in America that cannot produce Your will and life.

Keep us close to You, and where we are afar off, draw us to You.

Teach us to follow You as a nation. Bless this president to lead us as he follows You.

Protect him, his advisors, and all of America, I pray. Drive out our enemies before us seven ways, exposing them to the light that they might be apprehended.

Agreeing with all of you in prayer today!

Thank You again, Father for Your mercy on this nation in giving us the Godly leadership of George W. Bush. Thank You that he was able to spend a restful weekend with his beloved wife and family. Help him to continue to seek Your face in his daily walk, and in every decision he makes. Make Your will for him, and for this nation plain to him.

I ask for Your will to be done in the fall elections, that President Bush might get a Congress that will back him up in his desire to come back to Biblical principles, morality and integrity in government. Be with him especially as he prepares for his speech on Tuesday on corporate responsibility. Help him to communicate Your truths as he addresses the need for honesty and integrity in all areas of American life.

Be with and protect him as he serves You. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
