[history]
Irvine -- The Saleen S7 has everything you need to get to work in style: CD player, leather seats, air conditioning and power windows.
There is a catch: It sells for $395,000.
Despite the car's hefty price tag, Saleen Inc. is selling its Saleen S7 models faster than it can make them.

One could buy several of these for what one of the
five or six original Cobras would cost if they
were available. The last one I recall moving sold
for one and a quarter million bucks.

They will rework a mustang for you, so maybe they would redo an SUV also!

Hmm...Saleen...kind of a Middle Eastern name. Could this be a terrorist plot to put America's most productive (i.e., richest) citizens at risk, or increase our need for foreign oil?

Sorry, that would be a Shelby Cobra Wasn't the Cobra an English car with an American V8 in it? Not really a truly American supercar.

Shelby is alive and doing well.
Saw his new cars at the NASCAR Texas Motor Speedway stop earlier this year.
Words cannot describe it, carbon fiber and other unobtaniums abound.
He even makes an awesome golf cart that can run over 60 MPH.
Saw the Roush Racing Mustangs also, they looked pretty sharp.

Hossack describes a potential S7 owner as someone who has a net worth of $10 million or more, owns multimillion- dollar homes, travels to exotic locations and probably already owns a plane or a yacht. D@mn if my Enron, Worldcom, and Xerox stock had been klintoonized, I could have gotten one.
Right! It sure is a nice car though.

You weren't kidding:

Nu Pow'r makes its golf cart at a Las Vegas plant owned by Shelby American, maker of the Shelby Series 1 and Shelby Cobra high-performance sports cars. As a result, the cart shares features and amenities similar to those in Shelby's cars, including body style, a CD player, built-in ice cooler, four-wheel disc brakes, custom chrome wheels, a speedometer and seat belts.
"Our golf cart was designed from the get-go to be a showpiece for us," Winters said. "This is truly the Rolls Royce of golf carts."
The golf cart has turned heads and opened wallets.
