I think there was one story in the NY Post about the family's bedside vigil when it was still believed that the victim would be a lifelong vegetable. Recoveries like this are long and painful and news media considers such stories "depressing." The recovery, although miraculous, did not happen overnight.

Right now there are dozens of comatose survivors of terror attacks in Israeli hospitals who are being ignored by the media.
